Our Roots
Our journey began in the early '90s, when Bedford Communications launched the first issue of Laptop Buyers' Guide and Handbook. Over time, our focus expanded to cover handhelds, smartphones, and tablets, and the publication's name was eventually shortened to simply LAPTOP. The publication won an Eddie Award from Folio Magazine. In 2011, we were acquired by TechMedia Network (now Purch) and went fully digital in 2013, providing millions of monthly visitors with current and comprehensive tech information. In 2018, Future acquired Purch, and we continue to thrive in the dynamic world of tech journalism.
