Uzbekistan Intends to Facilitate Easier Access for Kazakhstani Passport Holders

Uzbekistan is set to ease travel for citizens of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Russia, as the country introduces simplified entry procedures. Under the proposed changes, individuals can enter the country for up to 30 days using an internal identity document or ID card. For minors under 16, a "kinder passport" will be acceptable for border crossing.

According to a directive from Uzbekistan's May 15 presidential decree focusing on tourism growth, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs are instructed to commence negotiations on the matter within three months.

The new entry policy is part of a broader strategy to foster cross-border travel and strengthen regional tourism and mobility cooperation.

Furthermore, Uzbekistan will introduce a 30-day visa-free regime for citizens of Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman starting June 1.Similarly, Uzbekistan will implemented a simplified procedure for issuing 5-year residence permits, starting June 1, in an effort to attract foreign investment.

Uzbekistan is aiming to significantly increase foreign tourism, targeting 15.8 million foreign tourists by the end of the year and aiming for a $4 billion export in tourism services. To support this goal, 378 new tour operators are scheduled to be established. This tourism boost is part of a broader effort to drive economic growth and development in the country.
