"My EP 55 talks about connection and disconnection," she remarks. "It's about the real and the digital world, and it's also about self-discovery." Each track reflects a facet of her life, from the carefree abandon of Alô to the warmth of family bonds in Vem.

With over 170 million streams and more than 1 million monthly listeners, Nono has amassed an impressive following in the music industry. She attributes her growth to collaborations and consistent releases. "Over the years, I've been able to work with DJs, which really helped widen and build my audience."

Alô resonates closely with the EP's title, as 55 is Brazil's country code for international calls. The song embodies the spirit of living in the moment, disconnected but carefree, much like when one has "no 3G and no WhatsApp." In contrast, Vem is inspired by tranquil Sundays at home in Brazil with family. "I'm very proud of this song because I think I was able to encapsulate a Sunday afternoon with my family back in Brazil."

Moving to London marked a pivotal moment in Nono's life. Driven by the desire to share her music with the world, she found herself immersed in new cultures and sounds. "I moved because I wanted to make music that could reach the entire world," she explains. This genre-blending approach is evident in her music, with baile-funk intertwining with house beats, and Latin pop harmonizing with electronic waves.

Passion fuels Nono's world. "My whole life is music," she shares. "Most of my UK friends are in music, and I'm very fortunate that most of my days are spent working, talking, or listening to music." Her love for live performances is palpable, as she continues, "Sharing that energy with the audience-feeling their presence, seeing them dance, and vibing together-is what truly drives me."

Beyond music, she finds solace in hobbies that foster creative escape: video games, embroidery, and reading. Yet, her heart often longs for Brazil. "From Brazil, I miss my family, the food, and the sun-not necessarily in that order!" she laughs.

Environments champion Nono is beaming with hope, as her home country reports a significant environmental milestone. This year, deforestation in the Amazon reached its lowest level in the last five years, dropping by 30.6% compared to 2023. This substantial progress, she believes, offers an inspiring glimmer of hope for change and a better future.

A Greener Future: A Dream Within Reach

Looking ahead, Nono harbors ambitious dreams and bold visions. In 2025, she plans to promote 55 with a UK tour, release more music, and perform globally. Yet, her aspirations extend beyond the stage. "I'd love to headline Rock in Rio, Coachella, Glastonbury, and also, later in my life, I'd love to open a music institute back in Brazil to help out anyone who has ever dreamed as much as I have."

Nono craves to see Brazilian music take a more prominent role on the global stage. "I think Brazilian music is gonna become more prominent within the mainstream media," she explains. "In the near future, it might end up taking as much space as reggaeton and K-pop, especially since language barriers are being broken more and more every day because of social media."

"The biggest musical challenge has been finding my own sound," she admits. "Over these past few years, I felt pressured by myself as if I needed to do a specific genre when I've always wanted to have musical freedom."
