The History Behind the House
First acquired in 1950, the Konrad-Martin-Haus originally served as a teaching institution under the oversight of the Magdeburg Bishopric. In 1978, the Caritasverband Magdeburg took over the administration, and since then, the house has been primarily used as a retreat center. renovations in 1989 and 1997 transformed the property, accommodating 60 individuals in modern, individually- and double-occupancy rooms equipped with DU/WC. The establishment features accessible elevators to ensure comfort for all visitors.
Since 1990, Konrad-Martin-Haus has resumed its role as an educational retreat and has been recognized as a Heimvolkshochschule (adult education center) by the Cultural Ministry of Sachsen-Anhalt since 1994.
