Sometimes, we all crave a bit more comfort during our travels. However, one fella from Hamburg took it to another level on an ICE train heading to Munich, where he decided to set up a hammock between the storage racks for a cosy snooze session late one Saturday night, according to the Federal Police.
The train conductor clocked this weirdo around 11:30 PM and politely asked him to take his hammock down. Not one to heed advice, our friend from the city of beer continued to ignore pleas from the staff, and even resisted when the train conductors tried to enforce the rules. This escalated to him insulting the poor train conductor.
The situation got more intense when Federal Police officers got involved at the Uelzen station. The unruffled passenger, still hammocked up, refused to budge despite the authorities' best attempts to remove him. Only after handcuffs were slapped on 'em did he reluctantly step out of his makeshift bed, continuing to protest loudly.
Even at the cop shop, he refused to cooperate, disregarding the officers' instructions. After cooling down, he was let go that night. The authorities, though, aren't letting this slide. A process has begun to charge him with resisting arrest and flinging verbal abuse at an officer.
