The Krasnodar region, under the guidance of its head, Veniamin Kondratyev, has accomplished the improvement of over 30 tourist routes by 2025. This was announced recently, bringing the total number of tourist routes in the region to almost 290.
In his statement, Kondratyev highlighted the active development of event, wine, agrarian, and ecotourism, all of which are in high demand. He added that efforts are being made to create more attractions to enhance the leisure experience for visitors and ensure quality service.
Guides conducting excursions in the region must now meet certain criteria. Only those who have earned a quality mark, confirming their qualifications, knowledge of local attractions, and history, are authorized to lead tours.
The cities of Sochi, Anapa, Gelendzhik, and Novorossiysk lead in the number of qualified tour guides. Successful candidates are awarded an identification badge with a two-dimensional barcode. This allows tourists to verify the guide's qualifications using the barcode.
Despite challenges, such as environmental issues faced by places like Anapa due to oil spills, the Krasnodar region continues to be a popular tourist destination. To support local businesses, Anapa has suspended its tourist tax for 2025.
