Launch of the Triumph Thrust 400 set for August 6th confirmed

The motorcycling world is abuzz with excitement as Triumph prepares to release the much-anticipated Thruxton 400. Slated for release soon in 2025, this bike is set to blend retro styling with a modern, approachable performance package.

At its heart lies a 398-399cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder TR-Series engine tuned to produce approximately 41.4 to 42 PS (40-41.5 bhp) of power and around 37 to 37.5 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission with a slip-and-assist clutch, ride-by-wire throttle, and electronic fuel injection.

The Thruxton 400 boasts quality chassis components, including 43mm USD forks with about 135-140 mm travel, a rear gas monoshock with around 130 mm travel, and dual-channel ABS brakes. The bike's wet weight is around 170-183 kg, with a seat height near 795-798 mm, and a 13-liter fuel tank. The bike is claimed to have a top speed of about 161 km/h, with 0-100 km/h acceleration in about 6.7 seconds.

The riding stance is sporty, with clip-on handlebars and a forward-leaning position, suited for a retro café racer style with modern performance and features. The bike features a sculpted fuel tank, aggressive riding posture, sleek rear seat cowl, bar-end mirrors, and clip-on handlebars.

The Thruxton 400 is expected to be priced slightly above the Speed 400 and could become the next crowd-puller in the sub-500cc segment. It shares the same engine with the Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X.

The café racer scene is gradually gaining traction in India, and Triumph seems to be capitalising on this growing demand for character-rich motorcycles. The Thruxton 400 is likely to appeal to a niche group of riders looking for a mix of modern engineering and retro appeal.

The Thruxton 400 is expected to arrive next week. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new addition to the Indian motorcycling landscape.
