Guide for a Spectacular Beginning, as Perceived by Jesko

**Yo, mate! I'm Jesko, 24, currently cruising high above the Australian coast, en route to Fiji for a quick break. But don't stress, I'll be back Down Under real soon.

Check it Out First time in Ausie, four and a half years back? Me too, and it was a bloody awesome experience! I spent nearly nine months exploring every nook and cranny, falling in love with the place. Memories from then took my life on a wild spin, giving me a new perspective, self-discovery, and everlasting memories.

Fast forward, I ended up back in Cologne (that's in Germany, mate) in the summer of 2020, kick-starting a three-year business administration course. I'd be lying if I said adjusting to the Cologne Covid lockdown wasn't bloody tough after the absolute freedom I'd tasted Down Under. But, as they say, time heals all wounds. Soon enough, I figured corporate life wasn't meant for me. So, I kicked off the next chapter and scored another Working Holiday Visa for Australia. Been back since November 2023, and it's proven to be bloomin' brilliant!

Let's get down to the nitty-gritty, though. Today, I wanna share some backpacking tips, helping you save dosh and be your own travel planner!

Chuck a squid on If you're still hesitating about this whole travel-work-holiday-backpacking caper, bloody 'ell, mate! Give it a whirl. It's one bloody thrilling adventure, and age ain't never gonna stop ya! Whether you're straight out of high school or feeling wasted in your '9 to 5,' this'll be the craziest, maddest memories you'll ever make!

Five years back, I set off, knowing bugger all about Oz. I wasn't bloody sure what to expect or how it'd change me. Hell, I didn't even realize I was leaving my safe zone and comfort bubble. But that's what makes it so bloody exciting. So, here we go!

Jesko's Top Tips

Tip 0 (Skipped, as this bit's already sorted by now)Tip 1 - The Great Debate: Travel or Work? Buy or Bus?

This depends on your vibe. To the question, "Car – yep, or no?", my answer, mate, is always yep! Those Aussie distances are deceptive, and a car gives you freedom like no other. Reach places you'd never find without your own set of wheels. But, remember, a car's a costly purchase, and there's always the chance something might go wrong. Then again, with a bit of luck, you can save heaps on hostels by kipping in your car.

Feeling curious about car buying? Let's chat about it some other time.

  2. Tax File Number (Get it sorted!)
  3. ** Aussie Bank Account (Go with Westpac, mate)**
  4. ** Aussie Super Fund (The Australian Super for your future self).**

Wish ya the best on this bloody amazing adventure, mate! Embrace the uncertainty, and Australia will bend over backward for ya!

Cheers, Jesko from Boxio.
