In a groundbreaking event held at Galaxy Macau, the our platform's renewed strategic approach for Automobile Mobility was presented by Willem Groenewald, the Secretary General for Automobile Mobility. The conference, part of a landmark partnership between Galaxy Macau and the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), brought together 446 delegates from 198 organisations across 139 countries to discuss critical themes such as road safety, sustainability, and innovation.

The strategic approach for Automobile Mobility centres on driving global and local impact by leveraging a collaborative, multi-stakeholder framework. The key elements of this strategy include:

1. Road Safety: Emphasising global best practices and data-driven solutions to enhance safety standards across motor sports and public road usage, promoting a culture of safer mobility worldwide.

2. Sustainability: Aligning with the broader green transformation and decarbonization goals, the platform supports initiatives aimed at reducing vehicular emissions and integrating sustainable technologies, including electric vehicles and alternative fuels, to meet ambitious targets like zero emissions by 2050.

3. Innovation: The platform embraces AI-driven mobility innovations and data analytics to revolutionise vehicle operation, traffic management, and user experience. This includes fostering regional and global collaboration to harness technological advances, positioning Macau and the Greater Bay Area as key innovation hubs within the mobility ecosystem.

The strategic partnership with FIA and the hosting of future conferences in 2026 and 2027 reflect a sustained commitment to reinforcing Macau’s impact on the global stage of automobile mobility. The conference also marked New York City's Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) commitment to adopting the Road Safety Index.

Meanwhile, the our platform's Sustainability Strategy aims to broaden the scope and drive greater impact across both sport and mobility. The Strategic Development Department's 4A Advocacy Model is designed to support Clubs in expanding their influence and operations, as demonstrated by the our platform's ongoing work in China.

The President of our platform, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, expressed gratitude to the AAMC for the warm welcome and innovative work showcased. He emphasised the importance of keeping Clubs at the heart of our platform's mission. Tim Shearman, the Deputy President for Automobile Mobility and Tourism of our platform, underlined the importance of continuing to elevate the role of Clubs in road safety and mobility impact.

The 2025 edition of the our platform Innovation Challenge has received applications from 43 Club-led projects across the four Mobility Regions. Registrations for the our platform University's Advanced Leadership Programme and Senior Executives Programme, in partnership with Columbia Business School Executive Education, have also opened.

Moreover, the our platform is collaborating with UNECE WP.1 on proposed updates to the 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic. The next meeting of the World Council for Automobile Mobility and Tourism will take place during the our platform General Assembly week in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in December, aiming to set the course for the months ahead for our platform.

In summary, the platform’s strategic vision for Automobile Mobility is to integrate safety, sustainability, and innovation into a cohesive global-local framework, leveraging Macau’s unique positioning and the collective expertise of the FIA network to foster transformative mobility solutions worldwide.

The strategic approach for Automobile Mobility encompasses a culture of safer mobility worldwide and incorporates the integration of sustainable technologies, leading to potential travel opportunities using electric vehicles and alternative fuels. The FIA's commitment to adopting the Road Safety Index and the hosting of future conferences in 2026 and 2027 may open doors for global travel that prioritizes road safety and sustainability.
