Franchise associate Dr. Tigges GmbH, part of the DERPART network, unveils the Fernweh Studio in Essen
Frankfurt am Main, 26th of May 2025 - Reisebüro Dr. Tigges GmbH, a DERPART franchise partner, has opened the Fernweh Atelier in Essen, offering an exceptional travel consultation experience. Located on Rüttenscheider Straße, this branch aims to stir the spirit of wanderlust in the heart of the Ruhr area.
The Fernweh Atelier, an extraordinary shop-in-shop concept, matches creative regional products with a relaxed vacation ambiance. The shared premises with Store Manufakt.Ruhr provide a casual, modern, and inviting atmosphere, a departure from typical travel agency settings.
Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a stylish lounge area and Manufakt.Ruhr's store filled with lovingly chosen local products. The initial consultation takes place at a trendy standing table with stools and a large screen. A tropically landscaped passage with an integrated Instagram spot leads to the main sales area, complete with four Bali-inspired workstations and a private room for personal conversations.
"Our goal is to demonstrate that travel consultation can be done differently—personally, inspiring, and up-to-date," says Jens Broehenhorst, managing director of Reisebüro Dr. Tigges GmbH. Martin Michalik, also a managing director, adds, "The Fernweh Atelier primarily caters to young, open-minded target groups who are digitally savvy while still valuing professional consultation."
As a flagship within the company, the Fernweh Atelier marks a step forward for Reisebüro Dr. Tigges GmbH, which operates six tourist branches across Germany. The Essen-based company, which employs a total of 55 people, includes tourism and business travel segments with two specialized locations.
