The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) motorcycle expedition, India@75, marked another significant milestone as it completed its 5th leg on Tuesday, December 07, 2021, reaching Thiruvananthapuram. This epic journey, flagged-off by Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh on October 14, 2021, aims to cover 20,000 kilometres across the country in 75 days, with 75 of its karmyogis riding motorcycles in seven legs.

The 5th leg of the BRO motorcycle expedition traversed through Kolkata, Utkal plains of Odisha, Coromandel Coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. Major destinations included Bhubaneshwar, Vishakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Chennai, Madurai, Rameswaram, Tuticorin, and Kanyakumari.

During this leg, the team visited several ancient temples, including the Tiruchirappalli, Thiruparankundram temple, Meenakshi Sundar Eshwar in Madurai, Rameswaram temple, and Late Dr APJ Abdul Kalam's ancestral house and memorial. The team also interacted with locals during these visits, fostering a sense of unity and shared pride.

In addition to temple visits, the team conducted various public outreach programs and Road Safety Quizzes at several locations. These initiatives aimed to educate and engage the community, fostering a safer and more informed driving culture.

As of December 7, 2021, the BRO motorcycle expedition has covered more than 14,300 kilometres in 55 days, demonstrating the team's determination and resilience. The expedition is a testament to the spirit of adventure and patriotism that continues to thrive in India.
