European Airports Leading in Flight Punctuality and Passenger Satisfaction

In the latest rankings by AirHelp, Tunis Carthage Airport in Tunisia has been named the world's worst airport, scoring a 6.05, just below Rhodes Diagoras in Greece which scored 5.8. The rankings, based on data collected between June 2024 and May 2025, take into account factors such as on-time performance, passenger feedback, cleanliness, general experience, and services offered.

Interestingly, Rhodes Diagoras managed to score well in punctuality, with 58% of flights running on schedule. Meanwhile, Oslo Gardermoen in Norway ranked 28th globally, and Bilbao Airport in Spain's Basque region came in at 16th.

Travellers seeking a stress-free journey this summer may want to consider smaller regional airports in Scandinavia, according to AirHelp. Cape Town International Airport in South Africa topped the global ranking, with Bergen Flesland in Norway being the best-performing airport in Europe, coming 9th globally.

Luxembourg Airport scored an impressive 9.0 for customer opinion, making it the top-ranked European airport in that category. Amsterdam Schiphol scored highest in Europe for food and drinks, with a score of 8.3. However, Paris Charles de Gaulle performed poorly across all metrics, with frequent delays and low customer ratings.

Toulouse-Blagnac is France's best-scoring airport, ranking 101st globally. Reykjavik Keflavík in Iceland ranked 30th, while London Gatwick ranked 235th, with low marks across all categories.

It's worth noting that the rankings only include airports with a substantial number of international flights. AirHelp's methodology gives 60% weight to on-time performance and 40% to passenger feedback. For precise rankings and more detailed information, it would be best to consult AirHelp's most recent reports or publications.

Historically, airports like Munich, Zurich, and Amsterdam Schiphol have been recognised for their high standards of service and infrastructure. However, for the most accurate and up-to-date rankings, AirHelp's official data would be the best source.

Travelers seeking a change in lifestyle amidst scenic destinations might find appeal in airports like Bergen Flesland in Norway, ranked 9th globally, or Cape Town International Airport in South Africa, the global top-ranked airport. These spots offer a better travel experience compared to Tunis Carthage Airport, which despite its poor global ranking, could still be an exciting adventure for those seeking an unexpected challenge in their travel lifestyle.
