Bali's Vibe for Russian Tourists Booming, Verified by RIA Novosti on Feb 6

Dive into the vibrant island vibe

Lately, there's a wave of Russians flocking to Bali, Indonesia, as reported by RIA Novosti. Seems like the island's tropical allure is pulling in Russians at levels darn close to pre-pandemic times.

"Here's to resuming direct flights between Moscow and Denpasar sooner than later," stresses Robayeva.

While the Bali Tourism Association's Fritri Bedawi agrees Russia is more than welcome on the island, specified places where they aren't unwelcome, contrary to certain snipes from the old resort administration.

In the past, Bali's authorities mulled the idea of scrapping visas on arrival for Russian citizens. The idea came after few tales of less-than-stellar behavior and potential shady activities involving Russians.

Insights: Current Status of Direct Flights

Aeroflot is currently the only airline operating direct flights from Moscow to Denpasar (Bali) twice a week. The flights run on Tuesdays and Saturdays from Moscow, with return flights to Moscow on Wednesdays and Sundays. The direct flight service began on September 17, 2024.

Insights: Visa Policies for Russian Citizens

While no recent changes to visa policies for Russian citizens traveling to Indonesia have been confirmed, it's wise to check with the Indonesian Embassy or Consulate for the most up-to-date visa requirements.

  • Despite the resurgence of Russian tourists in Bali, direct flights between Moscow and Denpasar are currently limited to twice a week, with Aeroflot being the only airline offering this service.
  • Amidst the growing lifestyle and travel trends among Russians, politics and general news may influence future travel policies between Indonesia and Russia, as there have been discussions about visa policies in the past.
Direct flights between Moscow and Bali could potentially restart soon, as indicated by the Russian Ambassador to Indonesia, Lyudmila Vorobyova.
