Hop Aboard the Time-Traveling Vouga Train
Get ready for an unforgettable journey back to the golden age of transportation! A press release announces the Vouga Historical Train, the last remaining narrow gauge line in commercial service in the country, offering trips between Aveiro and Macinhata do Vouga. Your adventure begins at Aveiro Station, where you'll board the train at 1:45 PM and enjoy some in-train entertainment. Upon arriving in Macinhata do Vouga (approximately 15:00), you'll be greeted with a free Agueda pastry and have the chance to explore the local products fair, snag some traditional goods, and take a guided tour of the Macinhata do Vouga Railway Museum.
At 4:40 PM, the train departs for Agueda. While there, you can visit the colorful streets and indulge in the activities of the AgitAgeda festival (July 5-27). The train returns to Aveiro at 7:20 PM, with an anticipated arrival time of 8:07 PM. The trip costs 41 euros for adults and 25 euros for children aged 4-12, with special rates for adults as well. The Vouga Historical Train can accommodate 206 passengers.
For nine trips, between July 5 and August 30, you'll embark on a memorable, nostalgic journey thanks to a partnership between CP - Comboios de Portugal, the Municipality of Agueda, and the Parish Council of Macinhata do Vouga.
