The trip takes place in Sichuan, China, where you'll spend 8 nights, from March 27 to April 04, 2026. Your adventure begins at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (TFU) on March 27th. Guests are expected to fly into Chengdu for the start of the trip.
During your stay, you'll be accommodated in a simple yet modern mountain lodge, equipped with ensuite bathrooms. The first night will be spent in a hotel in Chengdu, but meals for this evening and the last day's dinner are not included in the trip cost.
The main focus of the trip is, of course, the search for wild pandas. Sightings are a rare and special occurrence, making each encounter all the more precious. You'll be accompanied by an experienced guide and have the opportunity to join guided wildlife and nature walks or hikes to increase your chances of spotting these magnificent creatures.
In addition to panda sightings, you may also encounter other unique wildlife, such as red pandas, Tibetan macaques, and sambar deer.
The trip includes round-trip airport transfers from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (TFU), 7 nights mountain lodge accommodation, meals while in the mountains, a half-day visit to Chengdu Panda Sanctuary, all travel during the trip, and 6 full days and 2 half days of searching for wild pandas.
Please note that flights are not included in the group trip packages, but Bluewater is willing to assist with travel itineraries and recommendations. Internet and cell reception may not be available when in the mountains searching for pandas, but they are available after Chengdu.
The payment schedule for the China Wild Panda Adventure 2026 includes a deposit of $1,000 to confirm your spot, a payment of $2,000 due on September 1, 2025, and the balance due on December 1, 2025. A 25% discount is offered on rental photo gear from Bluewater Photo.
