Geretsried Delegation Heads to French Partner Town, Chamalières

Geretsried, Bavaria – A council from the German town of Geretsried is embarking on a journey to their French partner town, Chamalières, on May 28th. The travel group, composed of local residents, will depart early in the morning, boarding a bus at 5:30 a.m. for the approximately 1,000-kilometer journey to the French commune.

In preparation for their trip, members of the partnership association recently held their annual meeting at the Isarwinkel inn. Addressing the gathering, Mayor Michael Müller highlighted the significance of the partnership, which has endured for 42 years, underscoring its role as a constant factor in Geretsried's cultural life. Müller stressed the importance of cultivating the German-French friendship, especially in light of uncertain relations with the United States.

The partnership association currently has 84 members, and the French town of Chamalières is set to return the visit at the end of July, with a delegation from the Orchestre d'Harmonie de Chamalières. The partnership will be celebrated in the Waldsommerfest tent, featuring a performance by the Geretsried music school.
